Clearance Sale! Get Your Bleeding Hearts Beauties Boobies and Bum Bums for Bullies Calendar While Supplies Last!

Here at Pit Nutter Circus, we have collected and commented on the special sexualized advocacy used to raise awareness and funds for pit bulls for quite some time now.

With all of their efforts, the REASON for the advocacy is swept under the rug.  This is highly offensive to victims of pit bull attacks.   Imagine a calendar to help the image of serial killers using sexy tattooed cream puffs?   How about a calendar to help the image of radical Islamic Jihadists, using flower wreaths or tutus?

What follows is inspired by a recent artistic effort of Jewish artist Shahak Shapira, who created a project entitled Yolocaust.  He inserted photoshopped  horrific images of the Holocaust behind  lighthearted "selfies" taken in what should have been somber Holocaust memorials.

Ironically, many pit bull advocates compare BSL to the Holocaust, but it's a very offensive and ridiculous comparison.  Recently, pit bull advocates Terry Holt and Karen Batchelor dared to make the comparison sharing a post on several of their facebook pages , and there were some pit bull advocates who were disgusted, as they should be.  There is an example below, no screenshots, it's just too tedious and so pervasive to warrant  documentation.    It's obvious too, they are not aware that Hitler had a pit bull.

FB commentor: While I am appalled by the mass killing of dogs (no matter what breed) it's totally inappropriate to compare that to the atrocities committed by the Nazis. No explanation should be needed to realize that.

When advocates try to repair the image of pit bulls use pajamas, tutus, flower wreathes, kissing booths, or cheeky burlesque photo shoots, they are lightheartedly deflecting everyone from the horrific reality, and cause of the controversy over these dogs.
If they could think on how to reduce the incidents, then they wouldn't need all of the advocacy.  It's going to be a non-ending effort, because the more these poor dogs bred for blood sport are promoted as pets, the more victims of them there will be, and more tattooed cup cakes will pose for photo shoots and pit bulls will wear "charming costumes".

What follows should offend.  Some of the images are graphic.  Please do not continue if you are very sensitive to the reality of why pit bulls have the reputation they do.  They don't care, but they are also victims too.  This kind of fluffy, sexy, advocacy ends up harming them as well.

Ye Olde Tattoo Parlor

They call dogs man’s best friend for a reason. For 16 years, Mike Toma and his dog Puppy were constantly by each other’s side.

“I never went anywhere without him. He was my best friend,” said Mike.

Last July, Puppy passed away, and it impacted Mike like he could never imagine.

“I’m a 34-year-old tattoo guy from Detroit, and this has just been the most horrible experience for me.”

Mike got Puppy as a puppy from a reputable breeder. And for the next 15+ years, they were inseparable. They did everything from camping trips to parties… even time at work.

Last year, Mike and Puppy started a campaign to overturn a longstanding pit bull ban in Hazel Park, Michigan. It was a ban that Mike said he was unaware of when he got his beloved dog. They managed to get the ban overturned, but it didn’t go into effect until a few months after Puppy died.

In April, Mike decided to honor Puppy by keeping him by his side forever. More accurately, close to his heart. He called on a childhood friend, tattoo artist Christopher Kime, to create an anatomically-correct human heart tattoo, mixing Puppy’s ashes with the ink. Inside the heart is Puppy’s paw print.

It’s not the first time Mike has used this idea to honor someone close to him. He did the same thing when his younger brother passed away in his sleep five years ago.

“We had used his ashes in that tattoo and that’s where I got the idea to do it for Puppy,” says Mike. “Since both Puppy and my brother meant so much to me I thought that it was fitting.”

While Mike is still grieving over his loss, he finds comfort in another canine companion — one of Puppy’s offsprings (he's such a responsible owner!) , named Diesel, who was born a few years ago. He also adopted Gemma in December, saving her from the euthanasia list at a Detroit animal shelter.

Mike loves his two Pit Bulls, but says there are no more dog tattoos in his future.

“Don’t be sorry for me. Be happy for me that I got 16 years of nothing but pure joy and love out of it,” Mike says. “He lived a very very good life. He was spoiled rotten and he deserved every bit of it.”

Nutter Meme Makeover!

Who doesn't  enjoy transformations and makeovers!  Now let's make over some of the most oft shared pit bull propaganda memes.  It was felt that the "before" pic was not needed, because the following six memes have been around quite some time now, and it's time they received a dose of TRUTH.

The coconut meme still persists despite many scholarly derailments.  You would think that nutters would THINK....when's the last time you even saw a coconut tree in your neighborhood?

The crazy coconut meme inspired a poem.

This is the favorite shared by the college educated vegan rescue angel.  What the dear well meaning darlings do not seem to understand, it would really help  pit bulls if we could regulate who could own them.

Mr. President put out his finger in the wind one day when Cesar Milan showed up at his door step.  I think a crowd of victims need to do the same.

I suspect there are a good many people who don't even know what BSL is, and it would be fair to explain why there is a pit bull pissing on the letters BSL...

This is such a classy advocacy!

Political correctness works, this is why pit bull advocates grip and hold, and don't let go.

I've seen this one shared in the news media, on the Huffington Post and even on the wall of my local shelter, it looks so scientific.  The original doesn't explain what the American Temperament Society is testing for.  Pit bull advocates can also not make the claim "it's all how you raise em", if they are going to share this erroneous information, because it contains a list of popular breeds that collectively score lower on this test for Schutzhund prospects than do pit bulls (which do not exist and no one can tell what one looks like), but collectively and all added up together for the last twenty years, kill and maim less.   Yeah, these other breeds score lower on the American Temperament Society Test because weirdos and guns scare them, but isn't it all how you raise 'em?

If you have ideas for nutter meme make overs, let us know.  We adore sprucing things up with truth and explanations!

Color Me Pibble

s

We at Pit Nutter Circus are winded keeping up with the latest trends in the  Pit Bull Advocacy.  If there is something in full flame at any moment....the hottest meme, any political situation that can be adapted for the purpose of promoting maulers as family pets, you have better believe that the politically and business savvy  pit bull advocates are on it!    Sure enough, hot off the press, a pit bull coloring book for adults.   Perhaps someone will send one to Miley Cyrus, so she won't doodle on her pibble.

We too, are inspired to follow suit with our own offering, which is downloadable, and free.  In most cases, one red crayon will suffice to embellish these illustrations.

The Official Real Pitty Coloring Book

Imagine this sweet Nanny Dog decked out with
Cherry Pink and Apple Blossom White regalia.
Those lucky enough to survive Pibble may not remember their fun trip in a life flight helicopter.
Pit Bull Memories, the ear was saved!
Last encounter with a Pibble.

Consolations to those who can no longer enjoy coloring books.

Revenge of the Stick Figures

A facebook time waster spoofing stick figures and good old fashioned Dick and Jane Primary Reader prose went viral, and it was no time until the pit bull advocates created their own little meme to share.

Of course,  Spike doesn't support B.S.L., he doesn't even think about it one way or another.  He's a dog in this sense.  B.S.L. isn't about the way he looks, it's about the proclivity towards bloody mayhem.   It recalls this old stick figure bumper sticker....

We at the circus wish that pit bull advocates and owners could figure it out.   In the meantime, we've come up with our own spoofs of the spoof, heavy on the hints.   All three are based on true stories,  that have happened countless times.

The Kissing Booth

                        Try your luck at the
                       Pit Bull Kissing Booth!

According to officials with the Oakland County sheriff’s department, the 33-year-old man was visiting with the pit bull’s owner Wednesday night — in the 800 block of N. Perry  in Pontiac —  when he stuck out his tongue while face to face with the dog.

Get that blood pumping, it's thrilling to risk your own children to life time disfigurements or perhaps a fatality!

The department says that’s when the pet lashed out.

The man was taken to McLaren Hospital for treatment. Investigators said the severed portion of the man’s tongue wasn’t recovered and was likely to have been swallowed by the dog.

You never know where that kisser has been.  Hey kid, let's go for some cotton candy afterwards if you are not in a hearse, ambulance, or one of those life flight helicopters!  WEE!

It's better to just let pitty kiss other pitty.

Get the break sticks ready to go!

Pit Bull Kisses, only 25 cents!

Cost of  loosing cheek, eye, scalp, tongue....

six figures!

Life...Priceless!

Sadomasochistic Stitches

Presenting.......Pit Bull advocate and artist Drucilla Pettibone!

Once upon a time, there was a talented, bright, eccentric, lovely and artistic young woman by the name of Jere Alexander.  She has dabbled at being a shelter manager, also in many broad studies in academia, a farmer, a spinner, and an artist.  At some time, she has rechristened herself and adopted a new artistic moniker, Lady Drucilla Pettibone. Very catchy!  She holds "Ragtime séances"....she certainly has a flair for spinning ambient names for her sewing circles!

She's a quite the case study, and I have to admit, I admire her aesthetics and her industry, and I see the glimmer of a talented and brilliant person.   I do not however, admire the fact that she is a pit bull apologist, and find her actions, and some of the symbols she explores to be highly disturbing.

I wonder if this particular art piece was inspired by the "Sweet Pit Bull" that was shot by a police man after sending five children to the emergency room.....
 She wrote in her blog.....

"Hi there pit bull patriarchs,

I've been sorry to hear that some people are upset about my pit bull stitching because they say it glorifies dogfighting. Although it is hard for me to take that critique seriously, I certainly do not want it to be read it that way. For me, embroidering pit bulls does the work of mourning. It's a lot of stitching and I think about each dog and how they may have lived and died. It takes much longer to embroider a dog than it does to euthanize one. And as we know, they are being euth'd by the truckload in the US daily."

A bite is a most basic form of communication. I mean, dogs don't have hands, or English. What are they trying to say? I've seen dogs bite out of love. Extreme love, and the desire to be close, and to play. My dog bite embroidery is a series of linens that have been "altered" by Kaya, the artist, and then embroidered with phrases that I think she might be feeling while she's shredding my linens.

Ah yes, the dogman's romance.  I wonder if she has rendered any doggie trysts of a Chihuahua and a German Shepherd on a doily, now wouldn't that be something to see!

This is possibly the dog.

Read more about this piece here.

After her animal control fiasco, Jere applied for a grant for her "Stitch 'Er Up: Dogfighting Embroidery" collection, which it appears she's a winner!

Here is a collection of more of her work.  She's an artist from the Andres Serrano and  Robert Mapplethorpe school, savvy to know what will set you apart from other artists is controversy and obscene subject matter.  Juxtapose a vintage doily with some dog fighting images, and you have the folk-art equivalent of a plastic crucifix submerged in a bottle of the artist's urine.   I quite frankly think this is desecration of our heritage, these lovely pieces created of the precious idle time by housewives of a by-gone age deserve more respect.

She claims that pit bulls are her favorite breed, but it appears she has recently upgraded to what appears to be a Wolf-Hybrid puppy.  Apparently, pit bulls do not have fur suitable for spinning into yarn.

She wrote in her blog that she was inspired by a song  by Papa Roach, and she has in turned inspired me.  She has become my nutter goddess muse.

I tear my heart open
I sew myself shut
My weakness is
That I care too much.

and the Scars remind us
that the past is Real
I tear my heart open
just to feel.

I'm so inspired, I've decided to create some  art of my own!  This is a series based on her own work and inspiration......."Embroidered by pit bulls"

Let me adapt her own thoughts into a  refrain:

For me, embroidering pit bull VICTIMS  does the work of mourning. It's a lot of stitching and I think about each dog-bite victim and how they may have lived and died. . It takes much longer to embroider a dog-bite victim  than it does to euthanize the dog that did the deed.  And as we know, they are being euth'd by the truckload in the US daily. And as we know, there are new pit bull victims daily.

A little stitch witchery superimposed on a found piece.  Is it ART?

Read more about her, this woman fascinates me!
